TEFL International - Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica

Manual Antonio - Costa Rica is a living paradise, a nature lover's dream. It is a tourist-magnet with dozens of tour operators who run adventure trips into the stunning rivers, misty forests, or wild mountain terrain just outside town. Costa Rica is famous for its stunning natural beauty and the diversity of its flora and fauna. Wild orchids and butterflies abound as well as sloth and the inquisitive coati.

Manuel Antonio also boasts a series of magnificent beaches that are the perfect place for studying alone or for just spending a day with new friends. Additionally, there are many adventure-based activities available in Manuel Antonio including hiking, horseback riding, surfing, rainforest canopy tours, river rafting, and sea kayaking.

Where?

Directions from the Bus Station

We are in QUEPOS (Manuel Antonio is considered part of Quepos). When exiting the bus station, you will want to walk about 25 feet towards the ocean to the corner or the block where the first street crosses your path.

From here you will take a right where you will walk for several blocks during which time you will pass “Banco Nacional,” cross a small bridge and pass a grocery store on your right called: ¨Super Dos Mil” (Super 2000) on your right.

Continue walking until you see a green house on your right. Your accommodations are located next-door in the building to your immediate left.

You will see a small store on the front left-hand corner of the property and it is here that you can pick up your keys from Elisabeth or Macho, the owners of the building and the proprietors of the small store.

The apartments are close enough to the bus station that you could walk if you have packed lightly (about 8-10 US city blocks).

If you chose to take a taxi, tell them you want to go to Abastodor Patricia. If they do not know where this is you can tell them “cerca de Super Dos Mil” which is the grocery store nearby your destination that everyone knows.

Buildings do not have addresses like you’re used to and often things are known by landmarks, it is the official postal system! After you have passed the Super 2000 have the driver continue for about a block and a half. You will see the apartments on your right. It is a two story white building with four apartments and it sits back from the main road to accommodate the parking space in front.

To pick-up your keys you will be going to Abastodor Patricia, which is a small blue store next to your apartments that sells snacks and sodas and such. The operators of the store are Elizabeth and Macho. They own the apartments and they will be expecting you with a smile.

Your keys are available from 9am to 8pm the Friday, Saturday, or Sunday before your course begins. Should you run into any difficulties please call us either at the office 777.4042 or on our cell phones – Melanie 306.5395 and Jason 306.2437.
